As a Touching Lives Fellow, you will beteaching and mentoring children. The children come from challenging socio-economic environment. The role involves developing curriculum based on the in-house learning-teaching model of Touching Lives and helping the students to learn subjects like English, life– skills, meditation, mindfulness and others, supporting their overall development.
About the Organization and Project : Based in Mumbai, with a Global Vision, Touching Lives is a non-profit organization working towards providing Learning, Healing, Art, Technology and Life-Skills.
Our most important project – Independent Learners Project is an initiative to provide activity-based supplementary education to children living in slum communities in Dahisar and Borivali – suburbs of Mumbai and students living in challenging socio-economic backgrounds from different parts of India.
Project structure during the pandemic and requirement:
Currently, the team is working remotely, conducting all the sessions with the children online via Zoom. For 2022–23, we will continue online education / adapt a hybrid model and only start off-line sessions depending on the feasibility and government regulations. We do offline sessions with children in community spaces when personal meeting, assessments and visiting the community, meeting the parents is required. Hence, candidates living in (willing to relocate to) Mumbai will be preferred.
For the Fellowship Batch of 2022–24, we are looking for a fellow in our Discovery program (age group 12–16). The Fellow commits for 2 Years of teaching, mentoring and assisting the educational development and mental health of the children. You help the child to develop a value-based relationship with themselves and the global world. You develop a quality knit with their parents as a practice of inclusion and help the child and the parent relationship which further enhances their quality of life and learning.

Who can apply?
Academic qualification – Graduation or Masters in any field. Bachelors in Education, Masters in Psychology, Human Development, teaching experience preferred.
Skills and qualities – Effective Communication Skills, Good command over English language, Multi– tasking, Passionate about working with children and teaching, Wisdom to make children independent thinkers, Willing to creatively resolve difficulties and be completely non-judgemental, Participative in the learning and healing journey of self and team-mates.
