An Open Letter For the Children of Touching Lives
Dear Children,
Before I met you all, I was lost on my way. There were so many confusions, so much of uncertainty that my vision of the journey ahead was completely blurred. And then Touching Lives happened, I still remember the day I first entered Touching Lives, I remember the feeling of comfort and love I felt. I always wondered what made this place so blessed, not realizing that the answers was right in front of me. I realized that this place is blessed by each one of you. All of you make this place beautiful just by being there. Your love and innocence brings comfort to every soul who visits Touching Lives. I have been one of them. Today as I find my way to go ahead, I take a moment to tell you everything I wanted to tell you from so long. Although there aren’t enough words to tell you everything I want to, I still take this opportunity to express my heart out with the hope that someday in your life you will take sometime off to read this.
Halfway in your life, you will find yourself getting lost in the journey, you will find that the navigator you had for the thing called life is more lost than you were, for it makes you take some weird turns. Remember that is the exact time to carry faith in your heart because that is when you will know that no matter how weird those turns seems to be, it actually lead you home. It wouldn’t be the home you thought it to be, but a home where you are supposed to be. There will be moments in life, when you would be at the wrong side and it will be your fault, at those times don’t shy away to say that you are sorry. Don’t let that thing called Ego ruin your chances of having some beautiful relationships with some amazing people. Remember there will be times all bright and blues, for you to wear the glasses of your courage to see how beautiful the world is, and then there will be times all grey and gloomy. Those would be the time when you need to paint your mind and your world with the colors of hopes and happiness. And for the days which cannot be painted, keep handy some books and chocolates. Remember children, while you grow up you will get busy so much that you wouldn’t have time to eat, to sleep. But that is when you have to let yourself take a pause, to breathe, to smile to go slow. Halfway in your life, dear children; you will find yourself in the middle of a whirlpool where the only way to come out of it will be to choose, between love and anger and remember choosing anger will be easy but choosing love will be worth it.
My dear children, there will be time when I wouldn’t be there with you, when you all will be somewhere doing something extra-ordinary and will probably forget about this 20 something mentor who was there in your life, but remember no matter how and where I will be, I won’t forget you, because halfway in my life when I wondered on how to make a difference, you guys touched my life.
Healed By You
In Gratitude,
Yours, ”20 Something Mentor”
